What is the best griptape

After just having a conversation about griptape I thought that it would be good to do a blog post about it.
Over the years I hate to think how many boards I have gripped.  There is definately something very satisfying about gripping your own board whether it be a full grip job or a cut out or whatever you desire, its all part of being a skateboarder.  Soon I will do a post on actually gripping a board stage by stage.
Nowadays there is a massive choice of griptape available, plain, coloured, cut-out and graphic from a number of different companys.  Having used pretty much every griptape over the years there is no doubt that Jessup griptape is the best.  They are the original and still the best, they have been around since 1975.  Jessup griptape actually sticks to your board, I dont know the ins and outs of the adhesive they use but it sticks better than any other, you dont end up with that nasty lip around the edge of the board like you do with others and it doesnt chip off around the edges.  Its slightly finer grit than most others so doesnt shred your shoes as quick and it lasts, it doesnt wear down anywhere as quick as others out there.
Most other griptapes really are all about the hype to be honest.  Try Jessup griptape for yourself and see and feel the difference.
