skateboard bearings buying guide

Today I thought that I would share what I think the best skateboard bearings are to help you make the right choice.
So basically there are bearings that are rated on the ABEC scale usually 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11, this doesnt mean alot when it comes to skateboarding to be honest but the higher the ABEC rating just means they are slightly more precision made and will ride very slightly smoother, it doesnt mean they are faster or will last any longer to be honest.  I have had ABEC 5 bearings before that have outlasted ABEC 9 rated bearings and have ridden faster.  As long as you look after your bearings, re lubricate them and clean them then they will last a fair time.

These are the bearings that in my opinion and many others are the best value for your money and perform superbly:

Bones reds
Great value and probably one of the best on the market

Mini-logo bearings
Out of the same stable as Bones these are amazing, I usually skate these if the reds are out of stock.
So there you have it, I hope this helps you when you are chosing your bearings. Keep it simple and have fun skateboarding!
